Abstract

"Green Electrospinning" not from only non-toxic solvents but also from biopolymer solutions has become popular in recent years. Green fibers are particularly interesting for biomedical applications such as tissue engineering, drug delivery, biocompatible scaffolds, biosensors, and for photovoltaics, supercapacitors, fuel cells, battery components as energy fields, and for filtration membranes as environmental applications. In this chapter, we classified green electrospinning into two groups: (i) green processes as polymer free, solvent free, solution, and colloid electrospinning, (ii) green fibers from natural polymers and blends. © 2019 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.
