İYTE Fizik Bölümü ilk olarak 1998 yılında Fizik Anabilim Dalında Lisansüstü programlarında daha sonra Fizik Bölümü
lisans programlarında eğitim-öğretim vermeye başlamıştır. İYTE Fizik Bölümünün amacı hızla gelişen dünyamızda
ülkemizin büyük gereksinim duyduğu, uluslararası düzeydeki olanaklarla yetişmiş, en iyi altyapıyla donanmış nitelikli
fizikçiler yetiştirmektir.
The Physics Department at Izmir Institute of Technology opened its doors in 1998. Since then, it has been providing education to
undergraduate and graduate students majoring in physics. Since its establishment, the department has also been active in teaching
physics classes to the students of the science and engineering faculty. Today the department, with more than 15 faculty members
and with the-state-of-the-art research facilities, is known as one of the leading departments in the country, with strong focus on
education and research.
